Association of Accounting Technicians - AAT

AAT is the UK’s leading professional body offering skills-based accountancy and finance qualifications. These qualifications are practical, internationally recognized, and can open doors in any industry across the world.
AAT is open to everyone and offers an excellent route into chartered accountancy. If you choose to further your studies with one of the leading chartered professional bodies, such as ACCA, CIPFA or CIMA, your AAT qualification will give you generous exemptions. SBSA, as the only approved AAT Centre in Seychelles, offers you all levels of AAT qualifications. SBSA is also an approved exam centre and offers opportunities for external candidates to sit their AAT exams.
Which AAT Qualification does SBSA offer?
1. Accounting Qualifications
Jobs in accounting are extremely diverse and deliver exciting career opportunities, and studying for an AAT accounting qualification will ensure you have the skills and experience that employers need. Some of our accounting qualifications offer a route to becoming an AAT professional member and are a stepping stone toward university, chartered accountancy, or being your own boss.
We offer three accounting qualifications, each of which takes 12 months to complete. Learners can start with any qualification depending on their existing skills and experience. If they already have some accounting experience, they should find out which qualification is right for them.
2. Bookkeeping Qualifications
AAT bookkeeping qualifications provide training for a huge range of bookkeeping roles and are recognized by employers worldwide. They can prepare learners to become an AAT bookkeeping member and also open up the opportunity to be your own boss. We offer two short bookkeeping qualifications, which take up to 6 months to complete.
Learners can start with any qualification depending on their existing skills and experience.

What it covers
This qualification delivers a solid foundation in finance administration and core accounting skills, including double-entry bookkeeping, basic costing and an understanding of purchase, sales and general ledgers.
Learners will also learn about accountancy related business and personal skills and be introduced to the four key themes embedded in the qualification: ethics, technology, communications and sustainability.

What it covers
This qualification covers a range of essential and higher-level accounting techniques and disciplines. What it covers
This qualification covers complex accounting and finance topics and tasks leading to learners becoming confident with a wide range of financial management skills and applications. Learners will gain competencies in drafting financial statements for limited companies, recommending accounting systems strategies, and constructing and presenting complex management accounting reports.

Gain the skills and essential knowledge needed for completing the manual bookkeeping activities that underpin all accountancy and finance roles
What it covers
Learners studying this qualification will develop practical accountancy skills in the double-entry bookkeeping system and in using associated documents and processes while gaining an understanding that digital accounting systems are automating some of the stages in the process.
Learners will cover transactions for accuracy, make entries in appropriate books and ledgers, and calculate sales invoices and credit notes.

Learn enhanced skills and expertise in bookkeeping activities, critical for the smooth and efficient running of all finance departments.
What it covers
This qualification will develop complex skills and knowledge necessary to work in a bookkeeping role or to progress to higher level accountancy roles or study. Learners completing this qualification will become competent in financial processes including accounting principles and concepts, advanced bookkeeping, and preparing financial statements. They will also be introduced to business issues regarding payroll and value-added tax (VAT), including an understanding of the documents and reports produced on payroll software, and timescales for submissions and payments.
